It’s been a busy week, as you can probably tell from the unplanned blogging hiatus. The kids started swim lessons (twice a week) again; we visited two museums; picked $25 worth of strawberries and made 12 jars of jam; and just enjoyed the beautiful weather we’ve gotten (again).
And here I thought the summer would be a slow time for us. Silly me. π
And how are you all?
Happy. Only a teensy hungry. Finally, sitting down to work on Secret Project #1, which has FINALLY given me a real story to sink my teeth into. Only problem: I made the mistake of enabling the internet. I have mandated that I MUST disable it at 8:45. Oh, and ordered books today. 10 for $20.13 (that’s with tax and shipping) π
Oh, the Horrible Grasping Internet! I enable it, too.
Woohoo for books! Where oh where did you get such a great price!
CBD.com. I just went for the bargain books. Browse everything, order from lowest price to highest and stick to $3 or less. π
At Barnes and Noble it usually costs five bucks a book for anything I’m interested in, but I’m currently avoiding romances and am totally fine on reading kid’s fiction.
You know, I’ve never bought anything off of CBD. I’ll have to check them out.
I so know what you mean about unplanned blogging hiatuses. I’m trying to come off of a looooong semi-hiatus myself!
Cool that you break your work down into scenes, I used to do that, and it worked pretty well for me. Maybe it’s an approach I ought to rethink…
I’m taking a revision how-to course (Holly Lisle’s How to Revise Your Novel) and working in scenes is something I’ve got out of that. It’s a very effective tool and since I’m hopeless at guesstimating how long my books will be, I’m using scenes to mark my progress. π
