29 out of 64 scenes.
I wanted to hit 30 today, but revising during the kids’ Quiet Time didn’t happen (the Baron was really fussy) and I got a late start this evening (I just sat and stared zombie-like at my screen for an hour, then stuffed my face with tortilla chips and chili con queso). Ah well, I have a green card for my next scene; the last one before a whole string of from-scratch scenes.
I also got to play with one my favorite scenes in the book–a scene I moved up in the timeline–and I really like where it is now. It includes this delightful interlude over a platter of stuffed mushrooms.
How are your writing/revising projects going?
You’re doing so well. I’m just happy I’ve chapter titled my entire next book. Then my sister has to go and put another idea into my head… :groans: Holding it at bay and telling myself to work on Secret Project #1, NOT “Don’t Beat Yourself Up, You’ll Need You Later.” Have I mentioned lately, I do NOT need more story ideas?
Revising isn’t going at all. I hate to say it, but I’m in a I-hate-absolutely-everything-I’ve-ever-written funk and am trying not to permamently corrupt my view of In This Wood by being dumb enough to work on it when I’m in that mode. So writing it is. And I could probably make good progress if I’d stop getting distracted. 🙁 Need to kick self in the pants on that. Working on it.
Story ideas breed like rabbits, don’t they? 😛
Hey, you might be in a funk, but at least you’re still writing! Into the Wood will still be there when you’re ready to revise it.
I finished Quartz in (the spring of?) 2007. It sat around for a long time before I finally got to revising it.
But keep up the good progress. YOU are the reason I was motivated to get chapter titled and headered. For some reason, friends making progress makes me want to.
Thanks! Maybe we can be mutually motivating. 😀
