dude, i got a dell

Sooo, Quartz progress has been nonexistent since I’ve been installing software and transferring files from my old laptop to my new laptop. Did you know that you can move your entire Firefox profile over to a new computer and it opens it with all your bookmarks,  open tabs, history and persona intact? At one point I had twin browsing sessions. Unreal. 😀

I miss Quartz, though. Here’s hoping to get to it this afternoon. And now I must snag my oldest and inflict Ancient Egyptian history on him (o, the horrors!).

LOL I LOVE Ancient Egyptian history. Hopefully, he’ll enjoy it.

Glad you got a new computer. Hope the transfer goes well. I loved my Dell when I got it. 😀

Yes, transfer went well. Still need to go back to the old one for a few odds and ends, but all the important stuff (ie: writing folders) are moved over. 😀

Best wishes with the file transfers. IIRC, there’s a way to do that just by hooking up the computers via USB or Firewird and pushing a button.
Firefox, I used to love it, but now it’s gone all crashy. Grrr. Since you use Firefox already, you probably know about xmarks, a place/way/company where you can store passwords and bookmarks. It allows you to keep two or more computers the same, Firefox-wise.
Egyptian history. Oh, dear. If you go further back than Omar Sharif, I’m completely lost. Loved the King Tut exhibit, but all I really learned was that lapis lazuli goes well with ruddy gold.
Glad you’re getting back to Quartz!

Well, I’m being selective about what I’m transferring over. I accumulated a lot of… stuff… during the few years I had my old laptop and I want to start off my latest computer journey as streamlined as possible. I’ve been moving stuff over our home wireless network. Working fine.

I had no idea about xmarks. Can’t see myself needing that any time soon, but it’s useful info to squirrel away.

I’ve been away from Quartz for TWO days. Argh!
