Tomorrow I’m unplugging from the Internet all day, until after the kids’ bedtime. I do this every other Wednesday, to coincide with my church’s prayer & fasting day. The Internet is my one big distraction and time suck, and therefore holds much more temptation for me than food (hmm, except for maybe chocolate). Forgoing it for the day allows me to focus on prayer, on connecting with my family, on living in the moment, and finding other things to fill my time. Sooo, my responses to emails, blog comments and forum messages are all going to be a bit delayed.
I’ll be back here Thursday.
I should so do that. God bless you and your prayers and time with Him. I’ll be thinking of you. :hugs:
I think having a day off, especially if you are going to focus on the moment, your family and prayer will be so beneficial. It’s our loss and perhaps we’ll appreciate you all the more when you return tomorrow π
I’ll be thinking of you, and Megs, and I echo her ‘God bless’.
Thanks, you two. π
What a lovely idea. I’ve been trying to get back to the idea of a day of rest. We did that when I was a child, but when I was young, the world respected Sunday as a day of rest. Nowadays–even my daughter’s cheer performances are scheduled on the occasional Sunday.
Yes, it can be hard to observe a Sunday rest when most everyone is not. Plus, we have such a go-go-GO kind of culture here in the States.
