Just getting back into the whole writing thing again. I wrote a couple more thousand words on Secret Project, got Kai’s book past 80K and tinkered around some more with queries.
How’s it going on your end?

Good to hear you’re making progress.
Work is slooow this end.
Finished my two items for last week. Yay. One was in the editing stage, but the other was a full-blown draft.
Creating my series bible/continuity setup for Simplicity in yWriter today. Took a while to figure out how to make it work better than a blog (see Iveda linked on name), but I think I finally got it. I just have one last set of scenes to run tonight and everything will be in there and able to be shuffled around.
I’m using the Day field to enter my baseline year (the age of two characters who are twins β apparently, I base all chronology off of how old those twins are :shakes head at self: ), which means I can now easily check my chronology. I’ll probably start using the Minute field to note month. Hour will possibly go to season. Then I’ll really be in shape at a glance. :grins:
I’ve got it all separated into what is Canon (completed works) and what is not Canon (works in draft/edit mode). And I’m finally making proper use of tags for all my various storylines/character sets. I was going to try Scrivener, but yWriter is free.
Got so excited I forgot to say, congrats on the Kai book! (any chance I can get in line to beta? :bats eyelashes: Or do you already have everybody lined up? I desperately want to read it and I happen to know you don’t like too many cooks ruining the sauce. :))
I decided that as everything I do at present seems to bring me round to thinking about Characters then I need to focus on them. They are, after all, hugely important in any book.
So I got Holly’s Create a Character Clinic. I’m sort of asking some of the questions she suggests – Holly does list and categorize everything so neatly that I can now see my way forward. Already learned a number of new things about my ‘baddy’.
Oh, and if you need another beta reader I’m only across the other side of the Atlantic with no beta-reading to do right at the moment . After reading that little bit of your Kai book which you put on your blog a while ago, I’ve been getting curiouser and curiouser π
Apologies, I’m falling asleep over the keyboard. That should read – I have been sort of asking some of the questions she suggests but getting muddled. *shakes head* I need to go and do something active π
Oh, you two are sweet. *hugs* Kai’s book is not done yet (sorry I gave that impression!). I have 25K more words to go (guesstimates) before the first draft is complete, then I need to put it through the wringer to get it beta-ready. It’s nowhere near ready to be seen by other eyes. But I will definitely keep you both in mind for betas!

*nods* Yes, I’m learning to pay more attention to my characters, too. π
