thought for the day

thought for the day

There should be adult-sized swings in playgrounds. Even stodgy grown-ups like to fly sometimes, feel the wind in our hair and the lurch in our tummies as we arc and dip.

Slides! Yep. But maybe not merry-go-rounds. Swings, definitely! :)TX

I’d like a broad wooden swing hanging from an old tree, in a walled garden. Some place mysterious and hidden and green where I can think and not worry about people gawking at the grown woman on the swing. 😀

And my choice of tree would be a Karri tree – one of the world’s tallest hardwoods. That way I could swing REALLY REALLY high.
But probably wouldn’t ‘cos I’m not comfortable with heights. But at least I’d have the option on those days when I’m feeling a bit reckless. Only then I’d have to install a safety net somewhere.
      Or a trampoline. Oh YES, a TRAMPOLINE…
      …
Rabia, this post has my imagination running riot! 🙂

        Good!

We have a little indoor exercise trampoline for the kids to work their beans out on. And, yes, I’ve jumped on it, too, as a stress reliever.

This conversation is reminding me of this dream I had as a kid, in which I was on this long long swing that went over the edge of a cliff, into a pale pale sky.
