writing quirks

My husband peppers his prose with semi-colons. I can’t seem to live without em-dashes and parenthetical asides–must be the way I think. *grin*

How about you? What are your writing quirks?

Em-dashes, complex sentences, leading conjunctions, and “-ing” words. I shamelessly do not repent of any. 😀

*grin* That’s a good attitude to have. 😀

I use a lot of parentheses and the em-dashes (I’m a very tangential thinker–that’s my excuse, anyway).

I’m addicted to all sorts of punctuation marks: colons; semi-colons; triple dots…(do they have a name?); parentheses; commas – only if correctly placed; hyphens; and I can go a bit overboard, if not being vigilant, with exclamation marks! Oops 😀

Have also been known to knowingly split the infinitive.

I think the three dots (…) are called ellipses.
