interview and music video

Two things:

1. I’m over at Ellen Gregory’s blog today, talking about Rainbird, the fantasy genre, and some of my recent favorite reads.

2. One voice, one violin, one soundtrack:

    How I love Lindsey Stirling and Peter Hollens πŸ™‚ I first heard their “Skyrim” rendition, and pretty much like everything else they’ve done, too. Nice pick!

      I prefer their Skyrim rendition, but I heard of them through this video and I figured Game of Thrones might mean more to my readership.

      I can save their Skyrim version for another Friday when I’m scrambling to put together a post. πŸ˜‰

      What’s your favorite of what they’ve done?

        Hm, I think Skyrim’s my favorite. I’ve also looked up Peter Hollens by himself, and he does a really neat a cappella version of “Poor Wayfaring Stranger.”

      I love the cinematography as well as the music. An all-around lovely music video.

        I have to say that I LOVE the series. LOVE them with a vengeance. LOVE them so much that I am scared to read the books. I’ve started listening to the first book, and there are definitely differences although much is the same.

          Once you’re done with the first book, let me know what you thought, especially compared to the series.

    That is a neat video. I liked your interview, too. “Seasons” really does seem appropriate to describe how writing isn’t always the same. {Smile}

    Fantastic! I loved the interview- I’m reading Rainbird now and liking it! The video is pretty cool, too, and likely all I’ll get of Game of Thrones – I haven’t seen anything in that series to draw me in up to this point.

      Thanks, Ryan.

      Yeah, Martin writes really interesting characters, but his world is too grim for my tastes. I like the soundtrack of the series, but I’m bowing out of watching it. I know how it ends. πŸ˜›

        Oh- I haven’t watched the series, just read the first book and called it quits there. I’m over halfway through Rainbird now, though, and really enjoying it!

          Yes, that’s what I did. David’s listening to the first book right now. I’m curious to see if he feels at all like he wants to continue.

          I’m glad you’re enjoying Rainbird! πŸ™‚
