Since I haven’t posted about my progress recently:

Kai’s book is at 26, 181 words.

Rainbird (the short story I’m currently working on) is at 1,169 words.

I’ve been researching how to design a winged humanoid (solution: your typical fantasy fairy or angel is highly improbable). Isn’t it amazing the things you can find people discussing (in all seriousness) on the Internet?

I’m tempted to design a whole new race just for fun! But that would be yet another distraction from Rainbird, so I’ll save that as a treat for when it’s done.

Any fun or significant numbers in your life? Any diversions and distractions of the trivial and amusing kind?

Broken, another Elinor story, is complete at 6242 words.

Two down, two more to go. One will be short and brutal (to write), the other will be just weird.

Then, then, then it’ll be time to start another novel!

more boring progress

SoR revision 2:

121/244 pages

I axed a one-page scene, the only scene that was not from Jhayni’s POV. Turned up some inconsistencies that I need time to figure a way out of. There’s a lot of “who knows what and when did they know it?” going on in this book. Sad to say, I don’t know the answer to that question half the time!

SoR revision 2 progress:

88/245 pages

I’m hoping to get another 50 pages revised this weekend. I’ll post up another progress report on Monday.
